The Ridetech Air Suspension System for the 1967-1970 Cougar is the perfect system to provide modern ride quality and handling while providing that ultra-low show stance. Built with all of the care and experience you have come to expect from us, these tubular control arms are a precision-engineered solution for ball joint binding and frame clearance issues that can haunt some vehicles. - Development:
- StrongArms are developed by Ridetech in Jasper, Indiana, on an actual running, driving vehicle. This allows us to properly address ALL fitment and performance issues. It also allows us to document an installation, demonstrate the installation to our sales techs, and allows ongoing evaluation of the performance of the StrongArms.
- Design:
- Ridetech think the best way to design any component is to keep it simple. That is why Strong Arms are designed with as few components as possible. The new 4-axis tubing bender allows precise, repeatable bends that no other machine can achieve. We can create elegant tubing bends that would otherwise require several separate welded components.
- Lower arms feature a unique design that combines the control and strut rod into a stronger, more appealing 1 piece design. Additional caster is designed into the arms and includes a robust bearing in an aluminum housing at the front mount to replace the soft factory rubber units.
- Components:
- powder-coated in a satin black finish and completely assembled with ball joints and bushings. To reduce all stiction from the suspension movement, Injection Molded Delrin Bushings are used. These bushings are also impregnated with Teflon, which eliminates the need for lubrication.
- Geometry:
- Geometry of a suspension starts with the position of the frame mounts and the height of the spindle, not the shape of the control arm. However, there are a few small things in control arm design that can make a big difference in how a vehicle drives and performs.
- The upper ball joint have been moved back to allow for additional caster setting to improve high speed stability and steering feel.
- Billet cross shafts are included that feature a lowered mounting point to increase camber gain and correct suspension geometry.
- They house a stout double sheer lower shock mount.
- StrongArms are optimized to allow proper camber adjustment at your new lowered ride height without using a large stack of shims.
- Front MuscleBar Sway Bar:
- Let's face it...the most overlooked suspension component is also one of the most important. The magic you could be missing in your suspension may be nothing more than simply adding or upgrading your sway bars! The New MUSCLEbar sway bars were developed specifically for lowered vehicles and will greatly enhance the cornering performance of your car or truck. Not to mention, they'll also make some vehicles safer at the speeds we travel on today's interstate highways. Increased bar diameters, polyurethane bushings, and appropriate attachment links all add up to a sway bar package that is designed to work correctly with your lowered car or truck and your aggressive driving style.

- Front & Rear HQ Series Shockwaves:
- HQ Series Shockwaves utilize an impact forged aluminum body and Monotube design to deliver excellent ride quality and handling. They allow fine tuning of the ride quality and handling the rebound knob is located at the top of the shock for under hood access. They come standard with a 1,000,001 Mile Warranty.
- Rear Bolt-on 4-Link Kit:
- The Ridetech Bolt-On 4-Link installs onto the OEM leaf spring mounts of your prized muscle car...no cutting, no fabrication, just four small tabs to weld to the axle for your upper bars. The ride height of your car is typically lowered by approximately 2”. The ride quality is dramatically improved over stock. Instead of a wallowing soft ride you’ll experience a crisp, controlled ride quality that will inspire more confidence for performance driving.
- The area of largest improvement is the handling and cornering performance. The system eliminates the OEM leaf spring and replaces them with a 4 link rear suspension. The 4 link bars offer more precise positioning of the rear axle to eliminate flexing and increase stability through the corners. When combined with a Shockwave or a Ridetech Coil-Over front suspension kit your classic muscle car can now enjoy the benefits of modern handling and ride quality technology. The R-Joint rod ends combine the best qualities of low friction movement, lateral stability, full range articulation, and quiet operation into one special bearing that is as home on the street as it is on the racetrack!

- We wouldn’t expect you to bolt on any suspension component that we haven’t thoroughly tested. We regularly use our cars in a wide range of performance driving environments, as well as plain ol’ highway time. Our 4-Link systems have proven time and time again to provide not only ground shaking traction, but a great highway ride as well.
- Wilwood Front Disc Brake Kit with 12.90" Rotors and Red
- Forged Narrow Superlite 6 piston calipers with 12.90" diameter, 2 piece rotor and hat kits deliver the cost effective combination for braking power and style in this group of kits engineered for traditional non-ABS spindles on American muscle cars and vintage rods. They are engineered application specific for simplified installation and full compatibility with OE master cylinder output and ABS functions where used. Big Brake kits provide increased brake capacity and complimentary style with with wheel, tire, and suspension upgrades.
